Scent sightly fragrant

It's been about a month since I put in the first food waste.
What I put in the compost box is food waste, soil, and rice bran.
For the past month, I have been stirring the compost box once or twice a week.

On the day, I took out the food waste from the compost box and checked the condition of each piece.

◾️The first check is scent.
Scent is considered the most important factor when handling food waste.
Thera was a lot of onions in the food waste collected over the past month, and when I chopped it up with scissors, it smell like onions.
This time, I took all the food waste outside, but there was no smell of onions, just a rotten smell. The smell is not very strong.
I will continue to pay close attention to the scent.

◾️The second check is the condition of each food waste.
The overall impression is that each corner has been removed and it is becoming more rounded.

The picture above is of a lemon.

The picture above is of an onion stalk.

The picture above is of a potato.

The picture above is of an onion skin.

In response to this change
・For root vegetables, cut them into smaller pieces
・Leave the onion skin alone
・Do not add soil as much as possible

I would like to apply these three points to Sukekiyo No.2.

◾️The third check is the water that comes out of the food waste.
The bottom of this compost box is slightly floating.
It is a structure that allows water to accumulate.

I was very concerned because if there is a lot of moisture, it may attract pests, so I have to take measures to prevent this.

The water was about 0,3 inches deep.
The scent is a slightly strong putrid odor, similar to the scent of food waste.

However, there are fewer insects than. I expected, and I couldn't find any insect-like creatures in the compost box this time, so I'd like to continue as is without taking any countermeasures.

I am looking forward to my next visit as the temperature is expected rise this week.
